Phase I Environmental Site Assessments

Orswell & Kasman, Inc. specializes in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments which meet or exceed the current ASTM (E1527) and “All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) standards for Phase I reports.  Using an investigative approach, we conduct a comprehensive inquiry to seek out information concerning the history and use of the property in question.  A site inspection of the subject property and the surrounding area is then conducted to determine if any current or chronic environmental problems exist, on or near the site, that may constitute a risk or hazard to the property.  All of the information is then compiled and our report is sent to the client.

All of our Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and regulatory agency file reviews are conducted by ASTM Environmental Professionals.  The reports are prepared in accordance with existing federal standards, as well as standards which are recommended by private professional associations.  Federal, State and Local Government Agency Records are reviewed and the information is presented in a non-technical format which enables the reader to understand the information provided by the various regulatory agencies.  Photographs, maps, and sketches assist the reader in visualizing the site and its relationship to any nearby contamination problem or environmental hazard.

Our reports include information from the following sources:

• Federal, State and Local Government Agency Records
Building Permits and Records
Historical Aerial Photographs
Historic city directories
