In February 1990, Jack Orswell started Jack Orswell & Associates, Inc., an environmental consulting firm, specializing in Phase I Environmental Assessment reports. With 15 years of investigative experience as a Special Agent with the FBI, Mr. Orswell provided quality environmental information to lenders, borrowers, and real estate professionals in reports that are accurate and easy-to-read. Since the first day of business, the company emphasized customer service, attention to detail and delivering every report on time.
The company grew and expanded into larger offices, and in 1996, the company developed its own Environmental Records Research Report, a regulatory agency database information report. This report is different than the other nationally available reports, as we only focus on sites located in California, and all of the database information is reviewed and verified on a regular basis. Since we conduct nearly 500 inspections every year, we are able to verify the exact locations of many sites identified as “unplottable” or “orphan” by the other companies.
In March 1998, Marty Kasman, a former Los Angeles County Fire Department Hazardous Materials Supervisor, became a principal and the company name changed to Orswell & Kasman, Inc. Since the late 1990s, Orswell & Kasman, Inc. has been dedicated to providing professional environmental consulting services, that are personalized to meet the individual needs and requirements of each client.
